Fitzmaurice Voicework®

Your Authentic Voice is Inside

Fitzmaurice Voicework® is a practical approach to voice training, supporting the complete, expressive potential of the voice with minimal effort. Rather than prescribing a specific sound for an actor’s voice, Fitzmaurice Voicework® consists of principles facilitating in the discovery and development of each person's unique voice—in healthy, clear, and creative ways.

By deepening a relationship with the Autonomic Nervous System, the individual becomes riveting, believable, and authentic through a synthesis of techniques adapted from classical voice training with modifications from such disciplines as yoga, shiatsu, bioenergetics, and energy work. This method of training the breath and voice can also assist in creative, intellectual, and spiritual growth. Acting becomes riveting, believable, and authentic.

Taught at Yale School of Drama, Harvard University/American Repertory Theatre's Institute for Advanced Theatre Training, New York University's Graduate Acting Program (and some NYU undergraduate studios), the University of California-Irvine, and hundreds of other institutions around the world, Fitzmaurice Voicework® is recognised internationally as a profound and effective approach to training the voice and, by extension, the mind and body for people from diverse backgrounds and a range of goals.
